Public Enemy, and subsequent group Public Enemy Radio, has today announced that they will be "moving forward" without longtime member Flavor Flav.
The group has today released a statement to Pitchfork announcing the news.
“Public Enemy and Public Enemy Radio will be moving forward without Flavor Flav," it reads.
"We thank him for his years of service and wish him well."
The news comes just a day after Public Enemy's Chuck D issued a statement saying that Flavor Flav "has a year to get his act together and get himself straight or he’s out" after Flavor Flav sent Democrat front-runner for the upcoming US presidential election, Bernie Sanders, a cease and desist letter.
The letter came following an announcement that Public Enemy would perform at a Sanders rally, claiming that the campaign had "circulated 'the unauthorized use of [Flavor Flav’s] likeness, image and trademarked clock in promotional materials.'"
It has since been announced that the performance was actually intended to be Public Enemy Radio, the group that does not include Flavour Flav.
Public Enemy was formed in 1985.
