This week's edition of 'IT CAME FROM THE CLOUD' comes courtesy of the beatmaker supreme, GOD.DAMN.CHAN with his luscious flip of the 2015 insta-classic 'Link Up' by NxWorries .

If you're new to our segment then let us enlighten you. Each week we hand select a weird and wonderful slice of Soundcloud and showcase it both here on our blog and on our radio show.

Portland-based producer/DJ GOD.DAMN.CHAN is no stranger to sneaky edits and flips. Take his (now deleted) interpretation of the Wakapella from a few months back - a cut that perfectly showcases his talent as a beatsmith.

Fast forward a few months and the producer has dropped his take on 'Link Up', the nostalgically funky tune from Knxwledge and Anderson .Paak - released under the collaborative guise of NxWorries.

GOD.DAMN.CHAN removes the sample-heavy, loop-driven work of Knxwledge in place of his own instrumental. The track begins with a classic Sugarhill Gang sample coupled with the flexible kick, laying the perfect groundwork for what's to come. Cascading synth lines slide effortlessly around the tight drums and chunky percussions, all intertwining with .Paak's soulful vocals.

And what kind of Soundcloud segment would this be if we didn't document the switch-up? The last 40 seconds break into a woozy half-time experience that's laced with elasticised 808s.
