Shannon NollThe promoter for the Red Hot Summer tour has confirmed Shannon Noll will take to the stage for scheduled shows this weekend after he was arrested in Adelaide on Saturday night for allegedly assaulting a security guard outside a strip club.
Duane McDonald threw his support behind the 41-year-old singer when speaking to The Music today and said he will perform at the festival in Mornington, which features the likes of John Farnham, James Reyne and Daryl Braithwaite.
"There'd be no reason for him not to [perform this weekend]," McDonald said.
Noll was reportedly charged with two counts of assault after he allegedly attacked the bouncer outside the Crazy Horse venue.
One witness said, "[Noll] punched a security guard then got taken away by police in a paddy wagon… He was (intoxicated) and screaming".
"I wasn’t there, but from what I gather, he didn’t even go [to jail]," McDonald told The Music.
"The next morning he was at Adelaide airport.
"He’s definitely playing the rest of the tour dates and looking forward to it."
Noll is to appear in at the Adelaide Magistrates Court on February 24, just one day before he is scheduled to perform a Red Hot Summer gig in Queensland.
Noll is yet to publicly comment on the incident.
