The incomparable Prince is set to re-release his classic Purple Rain album and a new studio-length LP through a new deal with Warner Bros, 18 years after he infamously split with the label.

According to Billboard, Prince has teamed up with Warner again, which will also see the artist gain control over his entire music catalogue. Of his return to Warner after his turbulent split with them, Prince said in a statement he was looking forward to a “fruitful working relationship” with them.

"A brand-new studio album is on the way and both Warner Bros Records and Eye (sic) are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship," the statement read.

Purple Rain is set to be re-issued ahead of its 30th anniversary this June, while an album of new material is also in the works.

Prince's last studio album, 20Ten, was released four years ago. He also released music last year with his all-female band 3RDEYEGIRL.
