Melbourne DJ PQM (Prince Quick Mix) Passes Away

After being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2018.

PQM (Prince Quick Mix) has passed away.

The much-loved Melbourne DJ, real name Manuel Napuri, has passed away less than three years after his diagnosis with Motor Neurone Disease.

The news was confirmed by KISS FM, where Napuri was a long-serving DJ known for his weekly show Friday Night Live.

"Our beloved Quick aka PQM has died today," read the post

"He joins Phil K in the big studio. Travel safe mate - thank you for the music and thank you for seventeen years on Kiss FM with Friday Night Live. Forever in our hearts."

Napuri was diagnosed with the disease in August 2018, with fundraising events launched the following September to help support him.

"My symptoms began in 2017 when I lost the ability to hold a guitar pick and had to cancel a gig," he said at the time.

"I remember being so upset because that gig was going to be my first ‘unplugged set’ with just me & my Martin guitar. Never did I imagine things would get worse. During that time I also started experiencing very painful debilitating cramps all over my body...

"Thank goodness I have many wonderful friends and a very loving supportive family, which helps me to stay strong & positive through this difficult journey...

Tributes continue to flow for Napuri today.

"Today the physical world lost one of music’s true saints," said DJ Uone in a post
