PowderfingerBrisbane's Powderfinger – one of Australia's most successful rock bands – have signed a global publishing deal with Dew Process Publishing that covers some of the bands biggest hits.
Having been on hiatus since 2010, the international deal will cover the first five albums of the band – Parables For Wooden Ears, Double Allergic, Internationalist, Odyssey #5 and Vulture Street – with the band's biggest hits, including These Days, My Happiness, Sunsets, Pick You Up and Like A Dog. They were previously handled by Mushroom Music Publishing.
Dew Process Publishing will also represent their final two albums – Dream Days At The Hotel Existence and Golden Rule – in the UK/Europe and North America.
Brisbane based Dew Process have had a long history with Powderfinger, having been formed by the band's manager Paul Piticco in 2002. The publishing arm is administered through a deal with global publishing services company Kobalt – who will provide the platform for a lot of this deal's international reach – and has Art Of Sleeping, Last Dinosaurs, Ernest Ellis and The Falls on its roster.
Dew Process Publishing's Licensing And A&R Manager Fergus Jenkins said, “To have the privilege of being the custodian of these songs is extremely humbling. Powderfinger are one of our country's most treasured and important songwriters. I am looking forward to continuing to work closely with the 'Fingers.”
