The fairytale Of Dublin?

More The Pogues More The Pogues

Dublin's Herald reports that The Wire creator David Simon has finished work on a first draft of a musical "based on Pogues songs".

Simon is believed to have collaborated on the draft with late Pogues guitarist Phil Chevron - Chevron passed away on October 13.

Very little is known about the script which has been submitted to the Artistic Director of Galway's Druid theatre. Although the Herald speculates it will "take years" for the production to be staged.

Chevron had previously worked on an unproduced musical about a famous Irish boxer.
