Pixies To Return To Australia After Six Years

With a new bassist in tow

More Pixies Pixies Profile

Iconic Boston alt rockers Pixies have announced their imminent return to our shores next year, six years after their last Australian visit on the Doolittle tour.

The quartet are gearing up to release their sixth record, Head Carrier, late next month, with their Australian tour leg landing as part of their Head Carrier world tour.

This will also be the first time Australia has seen freshly-added official bassist Paz Lenchatin on stage with Pixies, having played with the band as a touring bassist since 2014.

Drummer David Lovering says of her addition, "Paz is a joy to be around. She’s very funny, and we’re having more fun than we’ve ever had as a band, we all have a blast together, on and off stage."

Pixies will only stop by the east coast this time around, kicking off the run in Brisbane on 2 March and heading to Melbourne and Sydney afterwards.
