Sydney banjo-slingers Pinch Hitter have released "Nine-to-Fine", the first single from the twinkle-core duo's forthcoming debut album.
The musical union of songwriters Nick van Breda (Staying at Home, Animal Shapes, Lights Out) and Dave Drayton (Milhouse, Between the Devil & the Deep, Zzzounds), the pair formed earlier this year, releasing a debut, three-track demo back in March.
"Dave and I have been locked down in the studio for the last few months," says van Breda.
"It's been a little tough. Dave broke his already broken arm, I lost my voice, we both lost our minds. The two of us quit the band several times but failed to tell each other. We're still here and we have an album just around the corner. There will be more songs, tours and tears for all. You can have this one for free. Happy Festivus everyone."
Stream "Nine-to-Fine" below or here through Bandcamp, where it's available for download on a pay-what-you-wish basis. The band's debut album is scheduled for an early 2014 release.
