Man Dies Of Reported Drug Overdose At Melbourne Dance Festival

“The death is not being treated as suspicious.”

A man has died from a reported drug overdose after attending Melbourne's Piknic Électronik over the weekend. 

As Herald Sun reports, paramedics arrived to the event at Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Sunday to tend to the man in his 20's who was in a critical condition and rushed him to The Alfred.

The man could not be revived.

“Police will prepare a report for the coroner following the death of a man from an entertainment venue in Southbank on January 24,” police spokeswoman Belinda Batty said.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious.”

The festival, which held its second of four events on Sunday, featured legendary DJs Carl Cox and Eric Powell's Mobile Disco set.
