Midweek chart report shows strong debut for Daft Punk as well

Phoenix are set to be this week's highest debut in the ARIA Albums Chart, according to midweek figures, while Owl Eyes will be flying the flag for the locals.

Last week Michael Buble stormed to his fifth number one with To Be Loved and Phoenix's Bankrupt! appears the closest new release contender on the back of a strong Coachella set and Australian-tour whispers.

Will.i.am's #willpower is also tracking well on debut while the other main contenders are familiar names such as Bruno Mars's Unorthodox Jukebox, Passenger's All The Little Lights and Flume's Flume. Sydney producer Flume received a festival bump last week with triple j's One Night Stand and this morning's inclusion on the Splendour In The Grass line-up may push him into the top five again.

Melbourne's Owl Eyes is sizing up for a solid debut and will likely lead the local charge this week with Nightswim.

It might take Daft Punk to knock Passenger of the ARIA Singles Chart summit, but the English singer/songwriter's Let Her Go track is looking good to rack up the most (five) consecutive weeks at the top of the chart this year. That said Daft Punk's incredibly funky Get Lucky, featuring Nile Rogers and Pharrell, is tracking well given its hype and looks set to be this week's strongest debut.

Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding's I Need Your Love will push into the top five and Bastille's Pompeii into the top ten.
