Brisbane's much-loved Phase 4 Records & Cassettes will be closing its doors next month.

Announced via a post on social media yesterday, the Fortitude Valley location is set to close on 28 February.

"After almost six years in Bakery Lane and on Ann Street, we have decided to close our bricks and mortar establishment in our beloved Fortitude Valley ‪on the 28th of March‬ – exactly one calendar month from today," read the post.

"...We always wanted a Warhol factory vibe - not an alienating and ‘curated’ record bar so it’s safe to say we did that whilst in the Valley. So there you have it; one more month before the bricks come crashing down with the grand finale being Eugene and the Egg performing on the Datson Stage. And for the last time – it wasn’t the old Doc Martens shop, it was the Lifeline!

"The shop will be functioning as per normal in the meantime so be sure to say hello or wave goodbye. Maybe grab yourself a souvenir? A big big thanks to the believers who supported the shoppe and no thanks to those who didn’t."

Phase 4 originally opened in the Valley's Bakery Lane in 2015 before moving to Ann Street and also operated as a live music space and home to the Late-Century Modern Recordings (LCMR) label.
