Peter GarrettFederal Minister Peter Garrett is expected to continue his dialogue with the Australian music industry in the coming months.
A source close to the Minister's office has indicated to theMusic.com.au that an announcement regarding another direct interaction with the industry is likely to be made this afternoon.
Garrett, frontman of legendary rock band Midnight Oil, has become the figurehead of Labor's Labor Loves Live Music campaign, which so far has been focused at a local government level. Earlier this month a speech he was giving at a Sydney venue ended in controversy after it was disrupted by a Greens function above the bar.
With a Federal election looming in September, Labor have begun to ramp-up their support for live music sustainability around the country.
