Paul Weller Reveals Return To Sydney Opera House In Aus Exclusive Performances

Paul Weller says it's a "total privilege" to return to the Sydney Opera House in February 2024.

British music icon Paul Weller will make his return to Australian shores in February 2024, announcing a run of dates exclusively at the Sydney Opera House. The three-night residency marks Weller’s first dates in Australia since his sold-out 2018 Sydney Opera House debut.

Weller will perform at the Sydney Opera House on Friday, 9, Saturday, 10 and Monday, 12 February 2024.

Two pre-sales take place today – the Insiders pre-sale begins at 9 am AEST, followed by the What’s On pre-sale at noon AEST. The general public on-sale begins on Friday, 29 September, midday AEST. You can find more ticketing information on the Sydney Opera House website.

Weller commented about his return to Australia in a statement: “So looking forward to performing at the Sydney Opera House again, we've always loved the audiences there, and it's a total privilege for us all.”

In September 2017, the Head of Contemporary Music at Sydney Opera House, Ben Marshall, stated about the Style Council and The Jam frontman upon his debut dates at the iconic venue, “It's not often I get to program someone who's changed my dress sense and been an influence since I was a teenager, but Paul Weller is it.

“I discovered The Jam along with The Clash and The Specials in my late teens discovery of punk/post-punk music, and that band hit me hard. An older friend who'd been a scooter boy in the UK introduced me to Northern Soul, The Style Council & Weller's then-new solo album Wild Wood, and I was converted.”

Marshall added, “Through his bands and his restless 25 years – and counting – solo career, Paul Weller's impact on modern music is undisputed. It's a genuine honour to welcome him to the Concert Hall for his Sydney Opera House debut, performing his only two Australian shows.”
