Paul McCartney has officially returned to Australia for the first time since 2017, performing a near-three hour set at Adelaide’s Entertainment Centre last night (18 October).
Featuring an abundance of Beatles classics, McCartney’s first show on the Got Back Australian tour opened with the beloved Beatles song, Can’t Buy Me Love, before launching into the Wings tracks, Junior’s Farm and Letting Go. From there, McCartney dipped back into The Beatles’ catalogue and performed She’s A Woman for the first time since 2004.
Of course, Paul McCartney can’t play his show without performing a few solo songs, including My Valentine (from 2012’s Kisses On The Bottom), Maybe I’m Amazed from his 1970 debut solo album, Dance Tonight (from 2007’s Memory Almost Full), Fuh You (from 2018’s Egypt Station), and more. Check out video footage from the concert below.
For an artist with catalogues that span decades and explore all sorts of musical genres, McCartney went from Love Me Do to Band On The Run to Hey Jude (not in setlist order). And the encore? Spectacular as ever. You can check out the setlist for Paul McCartney’s first show on the Got Back Australian tour below.
Following his Adelaide Entertainment Centre concert, McCartney will headline stadiums in Melbourne and Newcastle, followed by two nights in Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, with the singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist performing in Newcastle and the Gold Coast for the first time.
Tickets to Paul McCartney’s Got Back Australian tour are on sale now via Frontier Touring.
