"Michael Angelakos is devastated and would like everyone to know that he's working to get healthy as soon as possible."
Massachusetts synthpop act Passion Pit have cancelled their August tour last minute, citing needing doctor-mandated "rest and recuperation" for the cancellation.
Passion Pit's management issued the apology and news via Frontier Touring's website, stating, "Passion Pit has been forced to cancel all international shows, including shows in Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Japan, and Australia. Doctors have now mandated that the next few weeks be used for rest and recuperation.
"It is with a heavy heart that we make such an announcement, and Passion Pit has never been to many of these countries. However, we are left with no choice. Michael Angelakos is devastated and would like everyone to know that he's working to get healthy as soon as possible."
The tour was due to take place off the back of the band's third full-length, Kindred, bringing The Griswolds along for the ride to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane from 21 August to 25 August.
