They feel a lot more like themselves on this one.
American pop-punk rockers Paramore have dropped the release date for their anticipated fourth studio album, their first full-length release for three years will hit shelves in early April next year.
Self-titled, the new record will be released a month after the band venture Down Under for the Soundwave festival rotation, giving fans just enough time to hear some of the new material before getting their paws on the album.
The three-piece, fronted by Hayley Williams, announced the release date through a blog on the band's website, saying it marks the group's liberation and growth as musicians and friends. They had a tumultuous 2010 and 2011 with the bitter departure of founding members and brothers Josh and Zac Farro.
“The whole making of this album was a rediscovering of ourselves as a band and as friends,” the post read. “It was a process that allowed us the freedom to explore new territory artistically and to liberate ourselves as musicians, singers, as people! Sincerely, we feel that the best way to give it a name is just to call it what it is. This album is us.”
Paramore's last record was 2009's Brand New Eyes, which sent shock waves worldwide, especially here in Australia, debuting at #1 on the ARIA chart and reaching Aussie platinum sales.
The new record has been produced by the Grammy-nominated Justin Mendal-Johnson who is most recognised for his work with fellow Grammy-nominee Beck, also collaborating with Nine Inch Nails, M83 and Tegan and Sara in the past.
Paramore will be released on 5 April, 2013, with the first single from the album titled Now.
