"It's the best record they've ever done. Please, check it out," Anselmo said in a personal shoutout video.

Aussie metal outfit King Parrot received some of the coolest feedback a band could ask for: a personal shoutout from Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo.
King Parrot are currently on their A Young Person’s Guide To King Parrot album tour across Australia, and from July through September, they’ll open for Pantera in the US. The band recently released A Young Person’s Guide To King Parrot, and in Anselmo’s video message, he described the album as “ripping” and “awesome.”
In a video posted to social media this week, Anselmo stood beside his dogs and pigs—donning a King Parrot shirt, no less—when he said, “Something happened last week. You know what it is? New King Parrot came out – have you heard it?”
He continued, “It’s ripping; it’s awesome. I’ve heard it.” Anselmo then presented a vinyl and CD copy of the album. “It’s the best record they’ve ever done. Please, check it out. A Young Person’s Guide To King Parrot. Also, they’re coming over to the United States this summer; they’ve got their own tour, and they've got Pantera shows, so hey, check out the new King Parrot.”

Earlier this month, King Parrot released A Young Person’s Guide To…, their fourth album and first full-length release in eight years.
“It's been a long time coming, but we are beyond stoked to finally release our new record,” vocalist Matt Young said upon the album’s release. “The response and feedback we've received so far has been beyond our expectations, and getting out on the road with this new set of songs has been a total blast.”
Pantera made their long-awaited return to Australia last March, headlining the second edition of Knotfest Australia. They also played an exclusive sideshow in Adelaide, with King Parrot as direct support.
