Australian users of Pandora weren’t the only ones to receive a rude shock following news that the streaming platform will cease operations in the country at the end of the month.
Owners of car manufacturers like Toyota and Mazda, which have the Pandora feature integrated in their vehicles, will be left without any alternate options come 31 July.
News.com.au estimate that Pandora's closure will affect 1.2 million drivers across the country.
In a statement given to The Music today, Mazda have confirmed that the feature will be removed from its menu.
"Given it’s sudden closure, Mazda has no immediate plans to offer an alternative music steaming service, and in time the Pandora function will be removed from the MZD Connect menu," the statement reads.
"Any further updates on this situation will be announced in due course."
Meanwhile, Toyota have also advised there are currently no plans in motion to replace Pandora.
A statement from the manufacturer reads, "Due to the discontinuation of Pandora Music in Australia, Toyota Australia will be providing an update to the Toyota Link app that will remove the Pandora icon and function ahead of its cessation of service in Australia on Monday 31st July, 2017".
Users will be able to access Pandora both in their cars and on their personal devices until next Monday when the system will be shut down permanently in Australia.
