“Caterpillars can’t sing, but we do turn into beautiful butterflies. And that I can do. Well at my age, I’ll probably turn into a moth!”
After a whirlwind start to the new season of The Masked Singer Australia on Sunday night, revealing legendary Neighbours star Ryan Moloney, viewers waited anxiously to see who would be unveiled on last night's episode.
Although she gave a stellar performance, disguised as the adorably colourful Caterpillar, sports hero Lisa Curry was the second celebrity to be unmasked on the new season.
The triple Olympian, best-selling author, and highly popular television and radio personality sang Tones & I's smash hit Cloudy Day, but it was no match for Rooster’s cocky take on 24K Magic by Bruno Mars.
Despite her unveiling, Curry manged to fool the new panel of judges, featuring Mel B, Dave Hughes, Chrissie Swan and Abbie Chatsfield, with none of them swinging a correct guess as to who was under the mask. However, their guesses did feature two other Australian sportswomen, Sally Pearson and Emily Seebohm.
On being revealed Curry joked that “Caterpillars can’t sing, but we do turn into beautiful butterflies. And that I can do. Well at my age, I’ll probably turn into a moth!”
The clues that helped unmask Curry included: I’m the Caterpillar but I see myself as a butterfly. You can find caterpillars everywhere, from coast to jungle. My empire is far and wide. I’ve travelled the world without travelling far at all. You can find me on the road and even in the air, I’m always on the move. I’ve been a scholar, I’ve also been a world champion, but not what you think. And did you know Caterpillars can jump? I’m Caterpillar and I will take the trophy home with me!
