The first full-length from the Melbourne chamber popper.
Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Oliver Downes has released his debut LP Ultraviolet and announced plans for a four-date tour this and next month to celebrate.
Bringing along a full band for the initial launch, the tour kicks off at Wesley Anne on 23 Sep with support from Jess Locke. From there Downes will stop at Hotel Blue with Hinterland, Django Bar at Camelot Lounge with Hollie Matthew and Smiths Alternative, joined again by Hinterland.
Recorded by Jimi Lloyd-Wyatt and featuring guest appearances from Elana Stone and Brian Campeau, Ultraviolet explores "ideas of constraint and escape" through ambitious baroque pop.
