Just weeks after announcing he would be going solo, 5 Seconds Of Summer’s founding bassist and vocalist Calum Hood has announced a special intimate Sydney show.

Set to take place on Saturday, June 14th, the special event will see Hood playing an intimate, stripped-back show for just 100 fans at an as-yet-unnamed venue. A small-scale affair, it will also feature Hood in a Q&A discussion with Ash McGregor.

Though tickets aren’t available for purchase, a ticket ballot is on offer via Hood’s website, with pre-order packages allowing fans the chance to be in the running to attend.

It’s one of a series of special performances that Hood is playing alongside the release of his album. On June 11th, Hood will perform for Nova’s Red Room at Pleasure Club in Newtown, Sydney, and on June 13th, he’ll make an instore appearance at Oh! Jean Records in Melbourne. The following day, he’ll precede his intimate gig with an appearance at HUM On King in Sydney.

Hood announced the release of his debut solo album, ORDER chaos ORDER, in early April.

Previously, Hood’s 5SOS bandmates Ashton Irwin and Luke Hemmings had revealed solo records, while Hood’s own announcement came days after the news that Michael Clifford would also be unveiling a solo venture this year.

The announcement of ORDER chaos ORDER also came accompanied by the release of Hood’s debut solo single, Don’t Forget You Love Me.

"This album was made in a tumble dryer of knowing and not knowing," Hood explained in a statement. "I started out with a vision—order—but quickly became overwhelmed by the process—chaos. Eventually, I learned to embrace both, and that balance became the heart of the record.

“There are things I've never been able to sing about in the band—my upbringing, my family, the places life has taken me. This album is about laying those things to rest and allowing listeners to connect in their own way."

Calum Hood’s ORDER chaos ORDER is released on June 13th, with pre-orders available now.
