Exclusive: Oh Mercy Return To The Studio For New Album

Melbourne's Oh Mercy have entered the studio for their third album, theMusic.com.au can reveal, following their recent American tour.

After clocking up 13,450 kilometres on the trip, they've ended at The Family Farm studio, located in Portland, Oregon, which theyr entered last week. Working on their third album - the follow up to 2011's Great Barrier Grief - Burke Reid has joined them in the studio to produce the record.

Reid, who was produced albums by The Drones, Wolf & Cub and Jack Ladder, met the band in Toronto.

Today the band's songwriter and frontman Alex Gow told theMusic.com.au, "We are drinking a lot of beer, eating heaps of meat, listening to the Bee Gees and maintaining excellent hygiene."

The as-yet-unnamed album is expected to be released later this year, with new tracks to be released in the coming months.
