On Friday, 24 November, the new greatest hits album celebrating the original cast of The WigglesAnthony Field, Murray Cook, Greg Page and Jeff Fatt – is coming to vinyl, as well as CD, to commemorate the release of the new Prime Video documentary, Hot Potato: The Story Of The Wiggles.

Hot Potato: The Best Of The OG Wiggles will be released on black and yellow vinyl, with the latter encased in a stunning gatefold sleeve. The limited edition vinyl editions are hitting stores on Friday, 24 November, sporting a 25-track setlist including Fruit Salad, Hot Potato, Toot Toot, Chugga Chugga, Big Red Car and many more.

The current-day Wiggles – Evie Ferris, Anthony Field, Lucia Field, Lachlan Gillespie, Tsehay Hawkins, Catarina Mete, John Pearce and Simon Pryce – are also unveiling a new greatest hits release, with a new two-disc CD hitting shelves on the same day as the vinyl.

The Best Of The Wiggles will star the current line-up singing the classics, their new tracks (Dippy Do Dinosaur Dance!, Sing Together, and Hey Tsehay!), as well as nursery rhymes kids know and love, including If You’re Happy And You Know It, Hokey Pokey and Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Of course, a present-day Wiggles greatest hits isn’t complete there – their triple j Hottest 100 winning song, their take on Tame Impala’s Elephant, is also on the CD release.

Hot Potato: The Story Of The Wiggles will have its world premiere at SXSW Sydney ahead of its landing on Prime Video on 24 October. The film follows the OG Wiggles and tracks their musical journey, including their meteoric rise to fame and what happened afterwards.

According to a synopsis of Hot Potato, shared in October 2022 upon its original announcement, the feature-length documentary “is an ode to childhood and a homage to the power of friendship and dreams.” The documentary will also include previously unseen behind-the-scenes footage between shining examples of why The Wiggles are Australia’s favourite children’s band.

Field added in a statement, “When we first formed The Wiggles more than three decades ago, our aim was to educate and inspire children through music, and that continues today.

“Looking through the archives has brought back so many incredible and emotional memories, from our first shows for 30 children to touring America and the world, playing in arenas. It’s been such an incredible and evolving journey, and we can’t wait to share our story with everyone.”
