More Taylor Swift More Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift fans will have the opportunity to celebrate the release of her forthcoming album, The Life Of A Showgirl, in a unique fashion next month.

As Variety reports, fans will get to experience an 89-minute “release party” event, “Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl,” from Friday, 3 October—the day the album drops—to Sunday, 5 October.

Swifties will likely be most excited for the premiere of the first music video from the album, for the single The Fate Of Ophelia. In addition to the music video premiere, the release party will include footage from behind the scenes of the music video shoot, lyric videos for other songs on the record, and Swift’s “never-before-seen personal reflections” on her latest record.

According to Variety, the film release will come with a special price of $12, to mark Swift’s twelfth album and the album’s twelve songs. Swifties should also be advised that trailers and advertisements won’t be played before the release party, so arriving early is crucial.

Tickets for showtimes in Australia and New Zealand will be available on Tuesday, 30 September. Head to the Release Party Of A Showgirl website for more information on showtimes and tickets.

Announcing the release party on her social media accounts, Swift wrote, “I hereby invite you to a dazzling soirée, The Official Release Party of a Showgirl: Oct 3 - Oct 5 only in cinemas!

“You’ll get to see the exclusive world premiere of the music video for my new single, The Fate of Ophelia, along with never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage of how we made it, cut-by-cut explanations of what inspired this music, and the brand new lyric videos from my new album, The Life of a Showgirl ❤️‍🔥

She added, “Looks like it’s time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan… Dancing is optional but very much encouraged.”

At the time of publication, no singles from the Max Martin and Shellback-produced The Life Of A Showgirl have been released, but considering the catchiness of previous collaborations, we expect plenty of dance moves.

There’s considerable hype around the track listing, with the closing title track set to feature a high-profile collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter.
