The Nova Network is committing to showcasing more local talent with The Maddy Rowe Aus Music Show, a platform for Aussie songs to be heard and the artists behind them to receive some press coverage via radio interviews.

The show launches this Sunday, 19 March, at 6 pm. As the Daily Mail reports, new tracks from Jessica Mauboy, Blusher and Mashd N Kutcher will get a spin tomorrow night, with Rowe interviewing Zimbabwean-born, Melbourne-based pop singer Kye.

Maddy Rowe is also known under her musical alias, Genes. She makes indie-pop music in the vein of Carly Rae Jepsen and has toured with the likes of Client Liaison, Sheppard and Vance Joy. Her own experience as an artist in Australia and clear enthusiasm for showcasing local music makes her the perfect fit for this radio show.

“Nova has always been committed to providing a platform to support the emerging and established Australian artists,” Jodie Williams, Music Director at Nova, said.

“This year alone, Nova’s Red Room has provided music fans with up close and personal experiences with some incredible Australian artists, one of the most exciting up-and-coming artists Budjerah and respected singer-songwriter Dean Lewis

"We are extremely proud to have our own Maddy Rowe, a talented announcer and artist, host this new show that showcases Australian artists and allows fans to discover emerging artists and new tracks.”

Rowe continued, “I’m excited to grow the number of dedicated Australian music shows on commercial radio. Starting this show is the reason why I got into radio.

"Australia is full of arguably some of the best talent in the world – from the producers and songwriters who work behind the scenes to the artists who pour their everything into it. If I can help an independent artist with their very first commercial radio play, that’s the magic for me!”
