Sam Fender ProfileSam Fender is clearly a man of the people.
Next year, he’s embarking on an epic stadium run across the UK, but over the weekend he revealed he was “not happy” with the ticket prices. So, he’s changed them.
In June and July 2027, Fender will headline stadiums in his home city of Newcastle, as well as Manchester, Cardiff, Edinburgh and two nights at London’s Wembley Stadium. Of course, stadium tickets are always expensive, but he didn’t want them to be as high as they were.
Addressing the ticket prices in an Instagram comment that’s since been screen-grabbed and shared, the Seventeen Going Under hitmaker wrote on Saturday (24 October), “I’m not happy with these prices, they’re getting changed. It got inflated well more than I’d had in mind, it should only be inflated in relation to the cost of putting the show on.”
Fender also responded to fan criticism about the premium, more expensive ticket for front standing areas. “The standing will not be split as well, I had no idea about it,” he continued. “I have no idea how this was normalised in gigs. It’s bollocks and it won’t be happening on this tour.”
On Sunday (25 October), Fender outlined revised ticket prices on his Instagram Stories and changed the standing-area layout so there’d be no premium front standing area.
“I’ve managed to get front standing tickets removed from the U.K. stadium tour,” he wrote, per Billboard. “Whoever buys a standing ticket gets as much chance as anyone to be at the front. No more 120 quid standing tickets either.”
He added, “Costs are astronomical compared to two years ago, I can’t control the venue and ticketing fees, that’s a sad reality of today’s industry.”
With the updated ticket prices, general admission for Fender’s stadium run cost £85 ($160). Seated tiers range from £55 ($105) to £95 ($181), depending on seat location. However, these prices exclude venue and booking fees, plus the £ 1-per-ticket contribution to the LIVE Trust, which supports grassroots venues in the UK.

This year, Fender found additional success after releasing Rein Me In, a collaboration with Olivia Dean. In the UK, it became his first song to reach #1 and later the longest-running #1 single in UK music history, spending 23 non-consecutive weeks at the top.
Rein Me In has been in the top ten of the ARIA Singles Chart (in February), reached number two (in March), and hit #1 in April, becoming Fender’s first-ever #1 hit in Australia and Olivia Dean’s second.
Sam Fender toured Australia last November, playing his biggest venues to date. He performed in support of his Mercury Prize-winning album, People Watching, with special guest Holly Humberstone and Australian support acts Sycco, Day We Ran, Beddy Rays, and Esha Tewari.
