The Melbourne five-piece return to the spotlight this September

More Northeast Party House More Northeast Party House

Perennial triple j favourites Northeast Party House have jumped back into action following last night's premiere of new single For You, preceding the announcement of release details for their eagerly awaited second studio full-length, Dare, as well as an accompanying run of national tour dates.

The new self-produced album will make its way into the world — around which the band have spent the past year travelling on the back of their acclaimed 2014 debut Any Given Weekend — on Friday 9 September.

The band's globetrotting career arc is reflected in the album's roots, having been recorded in Melbourne as well as London, during Northeast Party House's tour of the UK and Europe. With mixing and mastering handled by drummer Malcolm Besley, Dare stands as a deeply personal and wholly accomplished successor to their celebrated first LP.

Fans in the Northern Territory will have the earliest chance to get in and celebrate with the southerners, with the band slated to appear at the Darwin Festival on Saturday 6 August before the tour kicks in proper on release-day eve, Thursday 8 September, at The Barwon Club in Geelong. The band's extensive celebratory run also takes in dates in Melbourne, Hobart, Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, Maroochydore, Perth, Adelaide and Ballarat, winding up with a final show at home in Melbourne (yes, again) at Wrangler Studios on Saturday 8 October.
