Notorious party starters Northeast Party House have announced a national tour on the back of their latest release Shelf Life

Announced on triple j this afternoon, the six-piece will be hitting the road this August and playing gigs in Newcastle, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Hobart and Perth.

They'll be joined by producer Roland Tings and triple j Unearthed talent JEFFE for the run.

The Music caught up with singer Zach Hamilton-Reeves ahead of the release of Shelf Life last month to learn about how 17 hours in Berghain changed the artist.

"We were there for 17 hours,” Hamilton-Reeves shared.

“But it’s more about the aftermath of what happened. The song [Shelf Life] talks about what happened there, which really messed me up, a little bit, for quite a long time. For, like, six months. It changed me from partying to not partying at all. That’s a change which is interesting when you’re in a ‘party band’.”
