More Oasis More Oasis

We’re only less than a month away from Oasis’ big return to the stage, and according to U2 frontman Bono, we’re in for a treat.

In a new interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Bono discussed his memoir Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story, U2, rock music, and how he feels about Oasis. He also brought up his friendship with Noel Gallagher, who he says recently messaged him in “shock” about how “great” Oasis have been sounding at rehearsals.

“I love them. I just love them,” Bono said. “And what I really love is, the preciousness that had gotten [into] indie music, they just blew it out. There was just the swagger, and the sound of getting out of the ghetto, not glamorising it.”

He continued, “They’re both funny – I’m still very close with Noel, and he sent a message to me saying he’s kind of shocked by how great the band is [sounding at rehearsals]. I think we’re going to have a good summer.”

You can watch the interview below.

Following their first two dates of the year at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Friday, 4 and Saturday, 5 July, the Oasis Live ’25 tour continues throughout the UK before heading to the US, back to London for two massive shows at Wembley Stadium, then Japan, Australia, and South America.

Oasis will make their long-awaited return to Australia this October and November, playing at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium for three nights (31 October, 1 and 4 November), and two nights at Sydney’s Accor Stadium (7 and 8 November). For their Australian dates, Oasis will be joined by special guests Ball Park Music.

Ball Park Music said of the epic news, “Can hardly believe I’m typing this, but it’s true, we’ll be supporting the Mancunian legends, the one and only, Oasis on their historic reunion tour when they visit Australia this year. To say we’re pumped is a massive fucking understatement. We. Can. Not. Wait. Let’s fucking get it!”

Liam Gallagher said it was his idea for Ball Park Music to open for Oasis in Australia.
