NinajirachiAustralian EDM star Ninajirachi is performing at Coachella for the first time this weekend.
If that wasn’t a big enough move for the DJ and producer – born Nina Wilson – then how about this? She’s been personally chosen by Harry Styles to perform at this year’s edition of Meltdown Festival in London.
Harry Styles has curated this year’s edition of Meltdown Festival, taking place at London’s Southbank Centre from Thursday, 11 June, to Sunday, 21 June. The line-up is packed with artists that span dance, pop, indie rock, and jazz, with Styles leading the bill.
Joining Styles and Ninajirachi at the festival are LA indie rockers Warpaint, British singer-songwriter Nilüfer Yanya, US saxophonist Kamasi Washington, drummer Yussef Dayes, Devonté Hynes – best known as Blood Orange – performing a set of classical music, and more, with Jon Hopkins performing alongside Maddie Ashman and Leo Abrahams while LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy delivers a DJ set.

Discussing the diverse music line-up, Styles explained, “Music is my life; every artist involved in this year’s Meltdown festival means so much to me, both as a fan, and a musician. It’s a true honour to host legends who have paved the way for the generations that follow them, as well as new acts that have inspired me to push my creative boundaries.”
Meltdown is the world’s longest-running artist-curated music festival. This year marks its 75th anniversary.
Reacting to the news of her featuring on the bill, Ninajirachi wrote on social media, “London June 12 thank you harry !!” She added, “the concept of harry styles streaming i love my computer”.
Southbank Centre members can access pre-sale tickets from Thursday, 9 April, followed by the general sale on Friday, 10 April. You can find more information about the shows here.
Following her appearances at Coachella and Meltdown, Ninajirachi will perform at this year’s Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago, which is headlined by Charli xcx, Tate McRae, Olivia Dean, John Summit, Jennie, The Smashing Pumpkins, The xx, and New Zealand sensation Lorde.
In July, Ninajirachi will bring her album, I Love My Computer, to fans across Australia. The tour is completely sold out.
Last year, Ninajirachi became the most nominated artist at the ARIA Awards following the release of her debut album, I Love My Computer. She went on to win Best Solo Artist, Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist and Best Independent Release. She also won the prestigious 21st Soundmerch Australian Music Prize.
Opening up about the success of I Love My Computer following her Australian Music Prize win, Ninajirachi told The Music, “I made my own favourite album, so I already feel like I won because I did that. I feel like I’ve kind of done everything I wanted already, so to win stuff like this on top of it, it means a lot.”
