It's very Nick Cave.
The star-studded new album from David Tibet's Current 93 project is called I Am the Last of All the Field That Fell A Channel, and had its initial release in London over the weekend. This will be Tibet's 25th full-length studio album under the Current 93 name, though a look at his complete discography shows he is far more prolific than even that figure suggests.
Today a track featuring the vocals of Nick Cave has appeared online, the song I Could Not Shift The Shadow a six-minute opus with the Australian-bred prince of darkness dropping some of his trademark wonderful wordiness over gloomy but pretty piano backing. Listen below:
The experimental group generally features Tibet with all manner of special guests, the likes of Crass' Steve Ignorant, Björk, Andrew W.K., Will Oldham, and Antony Hegarty are among the more well-known collaborators in the past.

Appearing on the record along with Cave and Hegarty are the likes of John Zorn, Jack Barnett of These New Puritans and guitar wrangler James Blackshaw. The record sees a wider release on Monday 3 March, though there is no word as to whether there will be an Australian release at this time.
