Tame Impala have stepped up as the final act to perform for triple j's Like A Version, delivering a rework of Edwyn Collins' 'A Girl Like You'.

Wrapping up not only a stellar year for the beloved triple j segment, but also for themselves, Tame Impala stepped up to the plate this week to deliver this year's final Like A Version. Taking over Edwyn Collins' 1994 hit, 'A Girl Like You', Kevin Parker was joined by Jay Watson and Dom Simper to recreate the smash in style.

“That song, I just love it,” Parker said to triple j. “It’s one of those songs where there’s no other song like it.”

The trio also performed 'Breathe Deeper', lifted off Tame Impala's early 2020 album, The Slow Rush. This album was meant to kick off a global tour, including the band's biggest round of dates in Australia, but was released just prior to the pandemic. That hasn't stopped Kev and co. from still making the most of the last twelve months, with covers, remixes, live streams, a collaboration with The Streets and much more being shared with fans throughout the year. Parker also recently celebrated a hugely successful night at the ARIAs, and two GRAMMYs nominations, so to say he's still had a pretty bloody great 2020 might indeed be accurate.
