Much loved Sydney music and culture podcast Parry Talks has announced its moving into record label territory with a forthcoming compilation.
Much loved Sydney music and culture podcast Parry Talks has developed quite the loyal following since its inception in 2019. Having played host to the likes of Triple One, Willaris. K, Lex Deluxe, Dro Carey, Pelvis' Ryan Powderly and many, many more, its dedication and commitment to telling the stories of those in the communities it represents is admirable and inspiring. Now, one year on from announcing its first show (which never eventuated thanks to the pandemic), Parry Talks has unveiled its latest evolution as it heads into record label territory.
Set to release a compilation with tracks from previous guests of the podcast, Parry Talks has launched itself as a record label in style with PTR001. Titled Parry Talks Alumni VA Vol. 1, this compilation includes offerings from AK Sports (one of our artists to watch for 2021), Body Corp, Lex Deluxe, Caitlin Medcalf, AREA CODE and PZ Specialist, and is as diverse and exciting as the lengthy list of Parry Talks' guests.
The good news doesn't stop there either. The team has also committed to paying the rent, and has advised that all revenue from Parry Talks Alumni VA Vol. 1 will be donated to the Aboriginal Legal Service in Redfern, a free, indigenous-run service that assists the local indigenous community in criminal, childcare care and family law.
Hosted by superstar and Purple Sneakers subeditor Parry Tritsiniotis, Parry Talks continues to brilliantly shine a light on a community and scene which has been hit particularly hard in the last twelve months. Its resilience and resolve in the face of unprecedented times has made for a source of joy and inspiration for many in these confusing and isolated times, and this VA is a testament not just to Tritsiniotis' passion, but to the unwavering strength of the scene he loves so dearly.
