Safely raving without socially distancing could be a thing again with the design of a pandemic-proof Futuresuit.
With the live music industry put on hold across the world due to the global COVID-19 outbreak, communities around the world have been busy innovating ways to be able to connect in The Time of Coronavirus. Now, an LA creative studio has taken that one step further and has developed a pandemic-proof raving suit to ensure safe raving during viral outbreaks.
According to MixMag, the studio Production Club has unveiled the design for the suit which is aptly named the "Micrashell Futuresuit." Having previously been engaged to produce interactive installations and light shows for SOPHIE, Skrillex and Grimes, Production Club have been busy attempting to develop a solution for being able to safely rave together without socially distancing.
They've also thought of basically everything, with the Micrashell Futuresuit including in its design "phone integration, beverage and vape consumption, voice communication, a subwoofer sound system, a video camera, fashion accessories, and a breathable helmet with unobscured views." The future is now!
While no suits have actually been produced at this stage, Head of Inventions Mike808 (Miguel Risueño) said, “With everyone in our industry focused on developing virtual solutions we decided to focus on something more emotional, physical and inherently human so the industry as a whole could have a broader chance to recover promptly."

Corey Johnson, Head of Special Projects, also said, "We believe events are essential to the human experience and create the memories that define our lives. While we might not see a Coachella-sized event for some time, we are excited by the challenge to create innovative solutions to push forward quality live entertainment and human connection."
It remains to be seen whether this will go ahead, but given there is no end in sight for the halting of events of all sizes across the world, maybe Production Club are onto something here!
