Smart electronic music will always trump big room EDM. PURPLE SNEAKERS supports the new wave of club music that's been hitting the internet recently... It's with this thought that we announce PARKLIFE will NOT be taking place at all in 2013. Instead, the awesome team over at Fuzzy have been working overtime at a brand new festival, and it's one that they feel is "desperately needed."

Announced over on Triple J a very short time ago, Fuzzy have announced the beginning of Listen Out. It's a brand new touring festival, set to hit our shores over the Spring months Parklife was home to. Guess we'll have to change out Parklife predictions over then.

But why go to all this trouble to get a festival that could easily just be considered as a re-branding of Parklife. We'll let them explain:

"Australia does not have a national intelligent dance music event - until now. Listen Out brings quality dance music to four spectacular inner city venues across Australia this spring."

"Listen Out is the antidote to many of the things you don't like about big music festivals. It is a carefully handcrafted party, with a killer lineup of the dance music that matters and a philosophy of best, not biggest. Say goodbye to endless timetable clashes, long hikes to the 12th stage and spending your day with several thousand people you can't relate to. Listen Out is the right party, and we mean party not festival, for the right people."

The 'festivals' tag line is: 'Party. Redifined'. And the guys behind some of the countries best Electronic events have a tall task ahead of them. For these claims to be true, they are going to have to re-brand not only themselves, they'll also have to look at their past lineups and re-brand what it truly means to be at a festival.

They are promising big things, and considering it will be the first 'party' of the summer festival season, as well as having to deal with the reputation Parklife will be leaving in the eyes of the Electronic community - it's going to be one extremely interesting year for everyone involved. Including you, the punters.

You guys ready for all this? If so, you’ll only have to wait a few more day for  the full line-up - as it will be announced this Friday 21 June. The question on our lips is, does that mean Disclosure confirmed they were playing Listen Out all along?

Tickets are set to go on sale midday, Thursday 27 June, from $89+bf.

Keep both eyes on the Listen Out Facebook page for more information on what seems like a bold new look for Fuzzy and the Australian festival market.
