South Australia's newest music festival New Shoots Festival has today announced its new date of April 2, following its November postponement, alongside new artists added to their line-up.

The festival will be held at Penneshaw Oval on Kangaroo Island, with a line-up headed up by Something For Kate, Jebediah and Bad//Dreems.

They join the previously announced line-up that includes Ash Grunwald, Maddy Jane, Tilly Tjala Thomas, Rat Tamango, Charlotte Gilfillan and Sam Kempster.

New Shoots will be the largest music event to take place on the island in over a decade.

East End Events Committee chair Andy Gilfillian reflected the communities excitement to host the event.

"New Shoots Music Festival intends to deliver a new annual music event utilising and empowering the local community as much as possible, from KI based catering and beverage suppliers, transport and trades, and local staffing, plus a farmers market will be held on the same weekend to promote local produce. It will provide a significant visitation boost and help extend the tourism season."
