American boyband New Kids On The Block are back, revealing details for their new album, Still Kids, their first in over a decade.
While they’re best known for their ‘80s material, Still Kids is the group’s eighth album and follows 2013’s 10. For the new album, brothers Jonathan and Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, and Danny Wood explore “hope and possibilities and being ourselves”, per a statement from Wahlberg (via Rolling Stone).
Accompanying the album announcement is the new single Kids, where the group channel modern pop production and dance beats while showcasing their harmonies and solo verses. Thematically, the track is about living in the moment and making the most of it, and, of course, celebrating with your friends.
You can listen to Kids below before the music video drops over the weekend.
Still Kids will be released via BMG on Friday, 17 May – you can pre-save the album and find it on deluxe CD or exclusive vinyl via Amazon here.
According to Billboard, Still Kids will feature 14 songs “full of pop anthems, dance tracks, love songs and grooves that will become fast favourites for the Blockheads,” the band revealed.

In a statement, Wahlberg called Still Kids “the most mature album we’ve ever made” and continued, “Yet it’s the most fun and most comfortable album we’ve ever made… This album, more than any other, is bringing the New Kids and the fans full circle. It’s about hope and possibilities and being ourselves.”
McIntyre added, “It says a lot about any band to make a record that has energy and passion and lightness and fun and depth – after almost 40 years together? It’s crazy.”
New Kids On The Block will tour the US from June through August.
