Neve Campbell To Reprise Iconic Role In New 'Scream' Film

"I am beyond excited to step back into the role of Sidney Prescott and return to Woodsboro.”

Neve Campbell is heading back to Woodsboro.

It has officially been confirmed that the Canadian actress will reprise the iconic role of Sidney Prescott in the forthcoming Scream reboot alongside previously-announced legacy cast members David Arquette and Courteney Cox who will return as Dewey Riley and Gale Weathers.

The new film, set for release in Australia on 13 January 2022, is the fifth in the slasher franchise - which has grossed more than $600 million worldwide - and the first since Scream 4's release in 2011.

Scream 5 is to be directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of filmmaking group Radio Silence (2019's Ready Or Not).

“After spending time speaking with Radio Silence, they have shown such love, respect and admiration for Wes Craven and all that he’s created in the Scream franchise," Campbell said.

"I am beyond excited to step back into the role of Sidney Prescott and return to Woodsboro.”
