Miiesha & Baker Boy Lead 2020 National Indigenous Music Awards Nominations

The nominees for the 2020 National Indigenous Music Awards (NIMAs) have been announced today, with Baker Boy and Miiesha leading this year's group. 

Miiesha, who release her incredible debut album Nyaaringu earlier this year, has been nominated for Album Of The Year, Film Clip Of The Year for Drowning and New Talent Talent Of The Year, while Baker Boy is up for Artist Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Film Clip Of The Year for Meditjin feat. Jess B. 

Jessica Mauboy, Archie Roach, Thelma Plum, Mau Power, Briggs, Electric Fields, Dallas Woods, Kee‘ahn, Tasman Keith and more have also been nominated. Read the full nominations list below. 

The awards will take place on 8 August and will be live streamed, with artists joining in from around the country to perform and accept awards. 

"What makes this year so exciting, is that we are able to involve and showcase many more of our First Nation artists and musicians through the virtual platform. Also to be able to connect regionally and remotely is extremely exciting," said NIMAs creative director Ben Graetz.
