All Our Exes Live In TexasCanberra's long-running annual National Folk Festival is approaching once more, and the ball is officially rolling on 2015's event with today's announcement of the stellar first-round line-up, including A-list Aussie acts such as All Our Exes Live In Texas and the Flying Emus.
Hitting the city's Exhibition Park from April 2-6 next year, the festival boasts a diverse cross-section of global folk luminaries, from Canadian poet and singer David Francey and Ireland's Heartstring Quartet to British troubadours Chris While & Julie Matthews, Afro-Celt fusion act Baka Beyond and traditional Mongolian outfit Equus.
Rounding out the roster of esteemed artists are Brisbane-based "neo-gypsy klezmer ensemble" Greshka, New South Welsh flamenco troupe Bandaluzia, and the Appalachian/Celtic-inspire Lucy Wise Trio.
The event is expanding its horizons beyond the purely musical for 2015, too, with the addition of Max Cullen and Warren Fahey's new one-act, two-man theatre piece Dead Men Talking.
The National Folk Festival regularly attracts more than 50,000 punters to the country's capital, and spans across a whopping 18 venues. The final line-up will boast more than 200 acts from all around the world, making the four-day event a veritable smorgasbord of quality tunes for fans of all things folky and fun.
