MorrisseyMorrissey has postponed a string of UK and European tour dates throughout July as former fans and activists continue to call him out for racism.
As The Guardian reports, Morrissey’s manager, Peter Katsis, said shows in the UK, Germany and Sweden next month had been postponed “due to logistical circumstances”.
The announcement follows on from Katsis slamming influential UK DJ Dave Haslam, who planned an anti-racism party near the former Smiths singer’s Manchester show on July 8.
A ‘90s house music pioneer, Haslam organised the One Nation Under A Groove event in protest of Morrissey’s support of English far-right leader Tommy Robinson.
“I sympathise with fans who made plans to see him, we know what it’s like to be let down by Morrissey,” Haslam said via Twitter.
This year, Morrissey has made headlines multiple times, back in April claiming that “halal slaughter requires certification that can only be given by supporters of Isis”, and last year throwing support behind Kevin Spacey And Harvey Weinstein and expressing controversial views on immigration.
