The legendary presenter joins the cable channel.

Aussie music icon Molly Meldrum will be joining the team at Foxtel Music Channel MAX, the station announced today, with the famous presenter taking on hosting duties on a number of special programs.

Meldrum brings his four decades of experience in the world of music media to the station, after previous gigs such as hosting Countdown and being an integral part of the Hey Hey It's Saturday variety program.

“When it comes to talking music, Molly is among this country's best,” Shaun James, Foxtel's General Manager Music Channels said. “He's interviewed absolutely everyone and his stockpile of stories and experiences is insurmountable.”

The first MAX show that Meldum has his name to is a countdown of the Top 100 Greatest Australian Songs Of All Time, which will air on Australia Day next year. Meldrum joins Australian Crawl frontman James Reyne, Machine Gun Fellatio's Chit Chat and fellow music presenter Jane Gazzo on the MAX team.
