Dan Sultan - Old Fitzroy

Don't miss a beat with our FREE daily newsletter

I covered this song on my album Oz because it just feels like such a classic, timeless song to me. I saw Dan play it solo on piano years ago at his gig at The Corner Hotel and he just blew me away.

Greta Ray - Drive

Greta is a really talented songwriter. I first heard a demo EP of hers years ago and have been watching her ever since. She’s finally out there and people are seeing how amazing she is, I can’t wait to see what’s ahead for this talented woman.

Kasey Chambers - Barricades & Brickwalls

Kasey was such an inspiration for me back in my high school days when I was just starting out as a singer-songwriter. I have strong memories of singing this song at full volume in my bedroom!

Midnight Oil - Beds Are Burning

You can’t beat Midnight Oil for protest music. They wrote so many songs about the rights of Indigenous Australians and really touched at the heart of our country with their lyrics. They were fierce and unapologetic and there’s really been no one else like them.

Ben Abraham - Speak

Ben has one of my favourite voices ever. He doesn’t shy away from his Aussie accent but his style is rich and delicate and so in control. I absolutely adore this song, it moves me every time.
