Kicking off in November.

More Missy Higgins More Missy Higgins

Acclaimed Aussie songwriter Missy Higgins will be hitting the road this November and December for some exclusive headline shows, which will see the artist's live band team up with some of the country's leading symphony orchestras.

Higgins will take to the stage for shows in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide with orchestral musicians in each city to perform her best hits, as well as some brand new songs she's been working on this year.

"I've had lots of invitations to play shows with orchestras over the years but I always said no to them," Higgins said.

"I guess when I was younger I was just intimidated by the challenge of reworking my songs on that scale. Then last year I got asked to do a show with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra in this incredible outdoor location called Skyfields in the forest outside Devonport.

"I’ve always liked new challenges so I figured that was a perfect opportunity to push myself out of my comfort zone and try something different. It was an amazing experience.

"The songs came to life in new and unexpected ways when we introduced all those other instruments so I decided to try something similar this summer in other parts of Australia."

Joining Higgins on all stops of the tour is fellow Melbourne artist Ben Abraham, while recently-reformed Brisbane outfit George will open the Perth show.

Tickets for all shows go on sale from 10am on Wednesday, 17 August.
