Midnight Oil, Archie Roach, Missy Higgins & More To Appear On 'The Sound' This Week

Including a special tribute to Warumpi Band.

Season two of The Sound is already shaping up to be a huge one with more iconic local acts announced for this week's episode, which includes a special NAIDOC week celebration. 

This week's episode will be headlined by Midnight Oil in celebration of their newly released The Makarrata Project. They'll be sharing a performance of their track Change The Date with Dan Sultan and featuring a previously unreleased vocal track from Gurrumul, which has been shared with the blessing of his family. 

Archie Roach AM will be joined by Jess Hitchcock ahead of the release of his new album The Songs Of Charcoal Lane, while Missy Higgins shares a performance of her new single, When The Machine Starts, recorded out the front of Melbourne's Flinders Street Station. 

Briggs, Ocean Alley, Busby Marou and Tasman Keith are all locked in for appearances, while Christine Anu will be joined by Cathy Freeman OAM on the episode. 

Anu will also be performing as part of a special tribute to Warumpi Band where she'll be joined by Electric Fields' Zaachariaha Fielding, Ngaiire and Emma Donovan

The Sound airs on ABC on Sunday 8 November at 6pm.
