The Aussie singer-songwriter releases 'The Wreckage' LP on 1 September.
Australian singer-songwriter Melody Moko will release her debut album, The Wreckage, tomorrow, 1 September, and ahead of its unveiling, the Americana artist has shared with The Music her warm and wonderful new track Secondhand Heart.
The album was co-produced by Catherine Britt and Michael Muchow, compiling a collection of Moko's thoughtful yet eminently accessible tunes that spreads its wings beyond easy genre trappings, a reflection of the songstress's broad influences.
"I love artists like Brandi Carlile and Tift Merritt," she said in a statement. "That early-2000s Americana vibe is really obvious, but we also wanted to have a fresh pop element to the record, so there is some loops and programming within the record too.
"And, obviously with me growing up singing country, Catherine Britt being as country as they come, and my husband having his feet firmly in the country world, that country influence runs through the whole record."

She hits Newcastle's 48 Watt Street (with Fanny Lumsden) to launch The Wreckage proper tomorrow night before heading on to play in Melbourne (two shows), her old stomping ground of Adelaide, Old Bar and Sydney.
