Melbourne Band RVG Sign Management Deal With Our Golden Friend

Ascendant Melbourne four-piece RVG tends to keep a bit of a low profile, but they've turned enough heads in recent months to grab the attention of the good folks at Our Golden Friend, who have just signed the band to a new management deal.

The band released their sublime debut album, A Quality Of Mercy, back in February, which we described at the time as being "an eight-track collection of tight, incisive post-punk/retro-pop infused with a liberal dose of downcast catharsis, confessional lyrics and downright infectious hooks".

Named for their frontwoman, Romy Vager (the initials stand for Romy Vager Group), the quartet draws membership from several stalwart acts from the varied Melburnian alternative scenes, including acts such as The Galaxy Folk, Drug Sweat, Gregor and Rayon Moon.

Flanked by members Reuben Bloxham (guitar), Angus Bell (bass) and Marc Nolte (drums), the band have garnered a strong reputation for their enthralling live shows as much as their intelligent songwriting, even going on to recently appear on the bill at Tasmania's renowned Dark Mofo festival earlier this month.

The band join Our Golden Friend's existing management roster, which includes the likes of fellow cult faves Jade Imagine, Jess Ribeiro, POPPONGENE and Totally Mild.
