Thrash metallers Megadeth have announced the decision to cancel their upcoming spot on the Soundwave 2014 bill.The band will miss the national run of shows, which also included select sidewave appearances. Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine posted a brief update online, assuring fans it had nothing to do with the recent Newsted sidewave issue.Due to circumstances beyond its control, unfortunately Megadeth has to cancel their Australian dates. Megadeth's decision is unrelated to the fact that Jason Newsted is performing at Soundwave. Jason and I spoke recently and continue to be friends. - Dave Mustaine, Megadeth
