Written and recorded between London and Los Angeles, It’s My Party marks a landmark new chapter for Mac, one which highlights creative freedom, collaboration and joy. It’s My Party was produced by Bullion (Carly Rae Jepsen, Ben Howard) and is an alt-pop record that saw Mac value play above rigidity.
“I thought I had this whole album planned out - I was going for this dark, witchy vibe and I was SO serious,” Mac explained in a statement. “Then honestly, not one thing went to plan, and I was forced to let go for once in my life.”
That release became pivotal to the album’s emotional core. Mac added, “I’ve spent most of my career being stressed, but somehow I stopped trying to control it all and found the magic in collaboration, being open and not worrying so much.”
Accompanying the album and tour announcement is the release of Mac’s new single, Outdone, which you can check out below. The track is moody and atmospheric, while featuring electronic undertones that highlight Mac’s unmistakable vocal power.
